Thaddeus Demeke is an LA-based Music Producer in the alt r&b/soul scene. Born to Ethiopian immigrants in San Diego, California, he started piano lessons at age 10 & played brass instruments in marching & jazz band in high school. He began to write and perform his own arrangements during this time. Eventually, he toured with the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, and performed on tours from 2014-2017.

In 2016, he began attending UCLA and founded an a cappella group where he met talented musicians & singer-songwriters. He found success as a Vocal Arranger & Music Director for several collegiate a cappella groups and has had his arrangements performed at the international ICCA Finals.

Inspired by the surrounding talent, Thaddeus moved to LA in 2022 and began his journey as an independent music producer. He has an eclectic taste and a diverse set of musical influences: FKJ, Jacob Collier, Sampha, Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean, & Eric Whitacre.
After spending years arranging & producing for others, he decided to launch his own artist project, “thaddeus”, in December 2024 with his 1st single, “I’m Doin Fine”. He is also documenting his journey growing his audience and building his record label (@edessarecords) from scratch.
